چکیده

Logic Programming, and the language Prolog in particular, has been proven to be very useful for the implementation of applications from various fields of Artificial Intelligence (e.g. Expert Systems, Machine Learning, Search, Reasoning, Planning, Natural Language Processing, Deductive Databases, Data Mining, etc) [1], [5]. One of the most dynamic programming paradigms nowadays is undoubtedly the Web programming paradigm, driven by the rapid growth of the WWW and the need for instant access to distributed and complex data. Combining these two paradigms by providing the power of Logic Programming to Web applications requires specific mechanisms of integration. The goal of the present paper is to deliver the mechanisms needed for the integration of Logic Programming in web based applications, both at the client side and the server side.

WWW Fisheye-View Graphical Browser

This paper proposes a visualization tool for the structure of World-Wide Web documents using fisheyeview techniques. Besides helping user navigation, this graphical browser may play an important role in web information searching. In order to build structural views more efficiently, a set of rules for web-site authoring, based on nested composition concepts, are proposed to help logically organi...

The Design of Distributed Hyperlinked Programming Documentation

HotJava is a World-Wide Web browser that adds dynamic behavior to hypertext access by supporting the downloading and execution of architecture-neutral, interactive applets from inside a Web page. HotJava is written in Java, a new object-oriented language and environment developed at Sun Microsystems. This paper describes the design of the documentation for Java's application programming interfa...

How to get what you want on the World Wide Web

The web began its existence around 1989 with a proposal called ‘Information Management: A proposal’ by Tim Berners-Lee, a researcher at CERN – the European organization for nuclear research in Switzerland. The proposal envisaged a network of remote documents linked physically using the internet and logically using hypertext. The proposal was called the ‘World Wide Web’. In response to this prop...

Cooperative Web Architecture for Search and Navigation Assistance

We describe a cooperative Web architecture that logically connects contents with hyperlinks and aggregates Web servers into a extremely distributed database. The cooperative architecture thus can turn the Web into a gigantic database and at the same time provide adequate navigation assistance for the Web. We implemented it with an advanced web server that is compatible with the conventional Web...

Prioritize the ordering of URL queue in Focused crawler

The enormous growth of the World Wide Web in recent years has made it necessary to perform resource discovery efficiently. For a crawler it is not an simple task to download the domain specific web pages. This unfocused approach often shows undesired results. Therefore, several new ideas have been proposed, among them a key technique is focused crawling which is able to crawl particular topical...
